Multiply Your Hard Work – Recycle Your Marketing

Think about the projects you are currently working on. Have a list of questions from a client that you’re chasing down the answers to? Are you working on an presentation for an upcoming conference or webinar? Did you read something that gave you a great idea for making your business operations more effective?

Why all the questions? I want to make you more efficient in your work. Think about how the work you’re doing on this project can be used to create additional marketing tools.

All of the time and research you put in to developing a presentation can easily be broken up into a series of blog articles or newsletter articles. Take a look at that list of questions you are compiling the answers to – if these are questions you are asked frequently, it only make sense to develop content for your website or blog to answer these questions. Insights gained from your reading, can probably be written up in such a way to help your clients.

Do you see what I’m getting at? Repurposing the content, finding additional marketing vehicles for the content, means you’ll reach a larger audience. Reaching a larger audience increases the value of your initial efforts.

The ability to repurpose a marketing piece is a characteristic of good marketing. Examine your projects with the thought of how they could be reused in another marketing vehicle. It’s an efficient way to make the most of your time and energy. It’s an effective way of multiplying the total number of pieces in your marketing library.

Take the challenge! Look at your projects in a whole new way. Review past presentation, articles, and any other deliverables to see what could potentially serve as content for a brand new marketing piece. Commit to recycling.
